St Matthew's, Richhill - 180th Anniversary Celebrations

Birthday Invitation

St Matthew’s Church in Richhill is looking forward to celebrating a big birthday this weekend. A special thanksgiving service will mark the 180th anniversary of the consecration of the parish church in Richhill.

A market house was built on the Square in 1753 by William Richardson, and in 1837, the building was converted into the parish church for the new parish of Richhill. “Jesus lamented the fact that the temple in Jerusalem had become a marketplace. In Richhill, the market-house became a place of worship,” commented the Rector, Rev Gary McMurray.

“We would like to invite everyone to join us for the Thanksgiving Service at 6.30pm on Sunday 10th September. You’ll be made most welcome.”

Following the service, there’ll be birthday cake and refreshments for everyone.
